Logo for HYPA (SA)

HYPA (Helping Young People Achieve), as part of SYC Ltd is a South Australian, non-for profit, community based organisation that has a long tradition of helping young people change their lives for the better. Since 1958 we have helped thousands of young people find a safe place to sleep, deal with personal issues, finish school and reconnect with their families.

We are currently looking for expressions of interest for this position at HYPA's Studio West, a group learning environment, located in Seaton Park. It provides an ACARA (Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority) and SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education) based learning program, delivered by registered teachers. HYPA Case Managers on site provide support to assist with learning engagement and well-being development. This program has a literacy and numeracy focus, as well as exploring additional learning pathways, suited to each student's goals. Volunteers assist in this environment adding value to programs and providing intensive support to students.

A high level of patience and communication and a commitment to providing a supportive environment for learning and wellbeing is essential.

Volunteers are required to attend Volunteer Training, Child Safe Environments Training, must be willing to complete a DHS - Working with Children Clearance and complete all other relevant training for the role. The cost of these will be covered by HYPA.
