SA Telecross REDi Caller - Port Pirie

Australian Red Cross

The program

Red Cross Emergency Services provides the Telecross REDi program during extreme heat events when the predicted average daily temperature is above 32°C for 3 or more consecutive days. The program aims to provide clients, who are vulnerable to extreme heat, with a wellbeing phone support service. The service is available to those who are aged or frail, elderly, housebound, recovering from an illness or hospitalisation, have a disability, and the socially isolated.

The opportunity

For this role, you will be able to listen and communicate effectively with clients in a caring and courteous way regarding their health and wellbeing during an extreme weather event. You will know how to recognise issues and concerns and provide clients with appropriate support and reassurance. You will be able to maintain accurate records of all calls using allocated call sheets and follow organisational procedures.

Experience working in customer service, call centres, aged care or clients with disabilities will be a bonus but is not necessary.

The impact

As a Telecross REDI caller, you will help our vulnerable clients during an extreme weather event to feel safe, socially connected and supported by providing a check-in phone call. We offer on the job training and support and ongoing training opportunities as required.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
