Expressions of Interest are sought for these voluntary roles: Secretary and an Ordinary Committee Member.
The Committee Secretary is responsible for ensuring committee meetings are organised and held, membership applications are processed and the membership register is kept and key documents and records of the association are maintained. The specific responsibilities for the Committee Secretary require someone who has a background in secretarial/administration and duties are in addition to those in the role description for Ordinary Members of the Committee.
Ordinary members of the Committee are responsible for overseeing the affairs of centre, ensuring its legal obligations are met and that the organisation is soundly managed for the benefit of all. Committee members carry out their duties in a lawful manner and ensure that the business of the organisation is carried out in accordance with the law and under the terms of the organisation’s Rules of Incorporation and Policies. Committee members support the vision, purposes and values of the organisation and ensure the governance and management of the organisation reflect them.
Plan and/or implement activities to raise financial and in-kind support through presentations, organizing and/or participating in special events.
