Logo for The Salvation Army Australia

Utilising your skills in minor maintenance you will have capacity to carry out general odd job activities including basic repairs, hanging of plaques and signs within the complex, control the tidy housing of items within the Community Shed and recycle areas, and some vacuuming of the courtyard.

You will have a good understanding of the importance of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and be diligent in maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

Being comfortable with tools would make you a perfect fit for this meaningful volunteer role and an ability to use basic gardening and maintenance equipment is desirable but not essential as some training can be arranged if needed.

The role would suit a reasonably competent handyperson or a tradesperson.

Time required is one or two days per week as arranged with Manager.

A reasonable level of fitness is an inherent requirement of this role. Some heavy lifting may be required.

The successful candidate will be supported with induction and training to succeed in the role.

A role profile for this position is available upon request and will also be provided to the successful applicant during the interview process.

**IMPORTANT: We kindly request that you provide a brief outline of your relevant experience, as well as your availability in the application comments section.  Due to limited resources, we can only respond to applicants who have provided this information.

Ideally the successful candidate should possess these desirable capabilities; •   Punctual and reliable. •   High attention to detail, self motivated and able to work with efficiency and accuracy. •   Reasonably competent handyperson or tradesperson. •   A respect and willingness to work within the ethos of The Salvation Army.
