During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected. This opportunity will appeal to an enthusiastic and engaging volunteer with an interest in facilitating a film group that takes place at the Dandenong Plaza Reading Cinema once a month for approximately 5 hours (this will include lunch or a light snack before the film).

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop/utilise your group facilitation skills, while supporting participants to build valuable connections and enjoy group activities as part of their social goals. The role will require you to facilitate conversation and engage with people attending the group.

You will have good communication skills, respect for diversity and support a positive interaction between participants in the group. The selected applicant will also be open to the future opportunity/possibility to assist in the organisation of the group. You will need to demonstrate the skills and confidence to work independently as well as within a team environment. You will also be prepared to provide participants with transport assistance to/from the group.

Current Australian driver’s license and road worthy vehicle essential Your vehicle will need to accommodate mobility aids including walking sticks and four wheel walkers. The selected applicant will be provided with induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development.
