About us

The Australian Aphasia Association provides national advocacy support for people with acquired brain injury with language impairment, a communication disability known as APHASIA. The Media Team provides essential support to the association via our various social media channels. This volunteer position may suit someone who is a marketing or graphic design student or who is a professional with a strong interest in aphasia. We are recruiting for social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube) and marketing and advertising skills.

Essential Criteria

  • Well-developed written communication skills
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Proactive, organised and reliable
  • Computer literacy skills and access to a computer
  • Basic knowledge of social media platforms, including Facebook

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with marketing campaigns

Your Role

As a Media Team member you will have the opportunity to:

  • Post high quality content of interest to the aphasia community
  • Develop the Australian Aphasia Association Facebook page
  • Assist in the maintenance of other social media channels
  • Raise awareness of aphasia in the Australian community via social media
  • Promote our National Conference for people with aphasia (June 2021)
