Key Duties Conduct visitor groups in a safe and structured manner along a predetermined path around the Adelaide Gaol. You will also be required to lock and unlock the Gaol for your tour. A willingness and interest in learning about all aspects of the Gaol Skills and Experience You must be reliable and have your own transport You must be comfortable speaking to groups A good clear speaking voice is essential An interest in history is beneficial You will require a good memory for historical facts Moderate computer skills and an internet connection is required Benefits A chance to immerse yourself in the Gaol culture and history Learn about the Gaol's changing architecture Full training will be provided at no cost to you Petrol expenses for each tour you conduct will be reimbursed Other out of pocket expenses will also be reimbursed You will get to meet interesting and diverse groups of people Safe, happy and convivial working conditions Working with dedicated and friendly fellow volunteers Participate in occasional group social functions Impact Keeping the history of South Australia and its heritage alive Creating interest in the Adelaide Gaol Informing others of the Gaol's fascinating characters An insight into South Australia's penal system and architecture Steps required to apply Go to adelaidegaol.org.au, About Us and scroll down to Volunteer Opportunities to complete the Volunteer Application.
