Research and policy volunteers will support the work of Volunteering Victoria to develop policy submissions on various topics over the course of 2021. This might include developing submissions for government and other peak body consultation processes, participating in our member consultation processes, the development of position papers on various topics, and producing contemporary research items related to volunteering.
We are seeking experienced, skilled and passionate research and policy people from all walks of life to join a pool of volunteers. As opportunities arise to develop policy submissions, we will contact this group to see who is available to support our policy project.
• Conduct desktop research according to the agreed topic. • Draft research, policy and advocacy content. • Work collaboratively with the Volunteering Victoria team.
Qualifications, skills & experience
Essential • Desktop analysis and research skills. • Ability to review and evaluate policy and research. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Good working knowledge of MS Office suite of products. • Ability to work independently.
Desirable • Experience in public policy. • Experience working in state or local government. • An understanding of the volunteering sector context • Knowledge of and experience working across diverse NFP environments.
Unique skills • Field of knowledge (this might be academic, working experience or your areas of interest) • Technical skills (e.g. statistical analysis, mapping etc),
