Midwest Community Living are offering social cooking sessions to their clients to promote social connection, confidence build and develop cooking skills.
We are seeking an enthusiastic cooking volunteer(s) to plan and implement the classes. Volunteers will have the ability to teach simple and nutritious meal preparation skills to a small group of people with a disability. The time commitment is expected to require approximately 1.5 hours per session, plus set up and pack down time as required.
The Social Cooking Instructor will be required to plan an activity schedule for the 8 weeks and have this presented to MWCLA as soon as practical.
Duties will also include preparing a list of supplies to be sent to the Customer Service Coordinator (minimum of) 1 week prior at the scheduled lesson/activity. These will be supplied by MWCLA and the food box will be required to be picked up from Queens IGA on the day or day before the session.
One volunteer is required for this position and the day and time may be negotiated with MWCLA.
The commitment for the volunteer for Term 2 is approximately 2.5 hours per week for 8 weeks duration.
