Midwest Community Living are offering a weekly nature walk group followed by a cup of tea/coffee for their customers to enable them to connect with other people, gain some light physical exercise and enjoy the outdoors.
We are seeking a fit and capable Volunteer who will lead weekly, 30 minute walks, for customers of MCLWA. The volunteer will then accompany customers to a venue for cup of tea/coffee afterward to encourage social interaction. The walks are recommended to be planned around Geraldton utilising the foreshore, parks and other suitable paths.
The group will commence as soon as practical and continue for 9 weeks duration. There is flexibility to change the morning to another morning more suitable to the volunteer. It would be desirable for the walks to begin at 9.30 am.
The volunteer Nature Walk and Social Leader will be responsible for preparing a 9 week schedule which incorporates the designated starting point and coffee location. This plan will need to be presented to MWCLA as soon as practical.
This position would be best supported by 2 volunteers however can also be lead by one well organised person.
The commitment for this position is approx. 2.5 hours for 9 weeks beginning as soon as practical and ending as discussed upon successful application.
