The Southern Friendship Matters Project requires people to host groups of people in various recreational activities (details in job description). The groups will be made up of people with all abilities who share a common interest. Our project is focused on reducing social isolation by bringing people from all walks of life to meet new people and make new friends. Groups will be brought together based on their interests rather than whether or not they live with a disability. Valid is a disability advocacy agency. We can offer training in working with people with disabilities and ongoing support. This could be a great opportunity for people studying disability, community development, social work etc. to contribute to placement requirements.
