When Support A Reader Mentors work with our students in need they provide a supportive and encouraging one on one learing environment that is just specifically for them. This very important learning time allows the child, with guidance from the mentor to completely focus on the areas in which need that little bit of extra attention. By students engaging in this more focused and targeted learning mentors help them to learn and develop the essential language and reading skills they need for life. Families teachers and students who have accessed our support a reader program have said that past mentors have supported them to initially begin to read and then on to reading fluently. Students who have successfully engaged with our mentors haveshown improvement in their classroom setting, have more confidence forming friendhsips and have developed resilience skills. The time and support our mentors invest in our students really does go along way to making sure the student is set on the right path for life.
