Based at the Cockatoo Island Visitor Centre, Visitor Services Volunteers meet and greet visitors and help them maximise their visit by assisting with historical information, directions, tours and attractions as well as selling merchandise and tour tickets.
The role particularly suits a "people person" with an interest in the historic aspects of the sites and helping people enjoy their visit. Volunteers usually commit to one day per fortnight.
The Harbour Trust is a COVID Safe organisation with processes and protocols in place to protect staff, volunteers and visitors. These include increased cleaning, the use of the Service NSW QR code, provision of PPE, and adherence to all Health NSW directives.
Benefits: Harbour Trust Visitor Services Volunteers interact with the public including locals and visitors to Sydney. Volunteers are trained in their role and become part of the 220 strong volunteer team.
Volunteers are provided with a uniform and enjoy regular information sessions and social occasions. Other benefits include the annual flu vaccination, WHS support and inclusion in Harbour Trust events.
