We are looking for that "right" volunteer that has a lot of patience and willing to take the time needed to support a vulnerable man in his 50's.
Pete (real name not used for privacy) does not communicate verbally yet understands and likes to take part in conversations in his own way.
A volunteer over time will learn his cues and gestures and therefore be a real voice for him when he needs to attend care-team meetings with workers who may not know him on a personal level, and therefore your role will make a real difference to Pete's life.
A volunteer will need to visit Pete and spend time with him partaking in activities such as board games and reading magazines.
Pete has lots of patience and enjoys engaging one on one with people.
Time needed will be as little as an hour a week or fortnight.
