Wesley Edward Eagar Centre (WEEC) is in the heart of Sydney and offers emergency accommodation for both males and females. WEEC is a a safe place that offers a range services with a focus on improving client outcomes. Wesley Mission is looking for dedicated volunteers who can assist with dinner service between 5-7pm, 1-3 nights per week.

Providing a meal to those who may be struggling with mental health, dependency and homelessness, therefore, empathy and understanding of these are essential.

This role will be best suited to someone with

• A high level of resilience

• Friendly, non-judgemental attitude

• Empathy and understanding

• Can do attitude and good sense of humour

• Good understanding of hygiene

• Experience in customer service desirable

Tasks include

• Assist with the set up and pack down of the dining hall

• Assist with the preparation and service of food

• Provide quality customer service and social support to residents

• Maintain a clean, safe, hygienic and healthy work environment in keeping with health regulations

• Take direction from the Head Chef

Requirements

• Attend an Information & Induction session

• Training as required

• National Criminal Record Check

• Be over the age of 18

You will be shortlisted for this position if you have

• Mental health first aid qualification or similar training

• Volunteer experience in a similar field
