During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!
John* enjoys watching cricket and the AFL (Collingwood supporter). He also loves fishing, exercising in his home gym, and working in his veggie garden. John* would be best suited to a positive, engaging and personable volunteer. Support and encourage John* to achieve his social goals and creatively reconnect with his interests.
Practical communication skills and a willingness to share home and community-based visits are essential. Outings may include going for lunch or coffee whilst sharing in conversation. You'll need a valid driver’s license and your own car to transport John* in during visits. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.
