Volunteer Transport Assistance for Incapacitated Veterans - Anzac Day Parade Brisbane
Advertised by Volunteering Queensland
The Anzac Day Parade in the Brisbane CBD provides ex-Military Jeeps and Golf Buggies to assist veterans and widows who can no longer march within the event an opportunity to continue participation.
We are looking for volunteer drivers who would collect aged and incapacitated veterans from the homes and care homes into the CBD and around the Parade route before delivering them home again.
Until recent years this service was coordinated with the QTC, Yellow Cabs and Black and White taxis. However, in 2025 we only had one professional taxi driver contact us to offer their services. This was a godsend for a WWII veteran that lives on Russell Island.
