During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!

Vera enjoys cooking, gardening, reading religious books, keeping up with the happenings of the royal family and spending time with her family. Vera would be best suited to a volunteer who is an effective communicator with a positive, bright, chatty affect. The selected volunteer will also have good listening skills and a willingness to share life stories and experiences.

You'll need the ability to creatively reconnect Vera with her interests and the neighborhood whilst sharing home and community-based activities. Shared activities may include supporting Vera with some personal shopping, stopping for a coffee or lunch. Vera may also enjoy a gentle walk, cooking or gardening together. You will have a valid driver’s license and your own car to transport Vera in during visits. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.

*Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested? For further information, please contact 13 93 75 and quote RL-S-05. **Please note that during COVID-19 visits will take place in line with Uniting and government COVID safe guidelines.
