Are you enthusiastic about life and want to experience the benefits of exercise, fresh air, sunshine and interaction with friendly residents in a tropical setting whilst volunteering at the same time? The Good Shepherd Home is looking for Trishaw Pilots (riders) for our newest activity. The Trishaw is a powered assist bike with front seating which allows our elderly residents to be taken for a bike ride along the Ross River or Palmetum. Riders will get to experience the smiles and joy of taking our elderly residents for a ride in this vehicle.

We provide training which allows you to ride (pilot) the Trishaw enabling you to begin a journey unlocking timeless stories and wonderful relationships whilst creating lasting memories for your passengers and their families as well as yourself.

Our volunteers are required to undertake a police check and complete training to enable them to carry passengers on pre-assessed routes. Trishaws are great fun to ride and you will only carry passengers when you and your trainer are fully confident you are ready.
