The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of Uniting (Vic & Tas).
During these challenging times we need volunteers more than ever, to support isolated people in our community to feel socially connected again. If you’re a ‘people person’ and would like to make a difference to the life of someone who is socially isolated we would love to hear from you!
Joanne enjoys meeting people at her local café, going to choir concerts, reading, gardening, and watching quiz shows on TV. Joanne is seeking a personable volunteer with an ability to creatively reconnect her with her interests and community. Visits may include visiting the RSPCA, going out for coffee, looking through old photographs or visiting the local op shop together.
You will have a valid driver’s license and your own car to transport Joanne* in during visits. The skills and confidence to work independently are a must. Induction, ongoing supervision and opportunities for professional development provided.
*Participant's name has been altered to maintain her privacy. Interested?**Please note that during COVID-19 visits will take place in line with Uniting and government COVID safe guidelines.
