Link Vision Ltd was formed in 1968. Based in Fairfield the charity provides low cost accommodation (Link Accommodation) for those with Low or No Vision, who may also have other disabilities. Through Link Education, Link Vision mentors young blind children to learn essential computer, keyboard, and life skills. Link Vision is a self-funded charity which receives income from 9 Op Shops strategically placed around Brisbane, and donations from generous Queenslanders. We are seeking applications for the position of Treasurer. The Treasurer will be part of the Executive of the Board, other Executive members being President and Vice President. The Board typically meets 6 times per year. The Treasurer will work closely with the CEO, and the principal accountabilities of the role are: • Forecast Cash Flow positions, any related borrowing needs, and available funds for investment • Ensure sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital Investment requirements • Maintain Banking relationships • Advise Management Committee on the liquidity aspects of it’s short and long term planning • Prepare and report on P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow to the Management Committee, quarterly and annually • Report to Members at General meetings as required • Assist in the preparation of the annual Risk Review and Business Plan • Ensure the organisation is prepared for the annual Audit • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation • Maintain a system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over Treasury activities Desired qualifications for this role are a Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, plus at least 10 years Treasury experience. The Treasurer needs to demonstrate an understanding ofand competency with all the principal accountabilities listed. It is vital also that the person can demonstrate compassion and an understanding of issues in the Disability sector.
