Support Group Officer - Geraldton


Seeking an individual with a genuine interest and passion for volunteering. With a commitment to our cause, they will show enthusiasm and positivity, be able to demonstrate empathy and reliability as well as a willingness to devote a set amount of time regularly to the program. The suitable applicant will be punctual with good interpersonal skills and show self-assurance with a demonstrated ability to take constructive criticism on board with the scope for continuous self improvement. They should be able to communicate in a non-judgmental manner showing positive and respectful interaction with everyone as well as a willingness to help others.

Duties are as follows:

  1. Meet with support group on a monthly basis and assist with the setup and pack down of equipment for the group meeting including possible moving of furniture and assistance with tea/coffees.
  2. Assist with finding guest speakers for each meeting in liaison with an Occupational Therapist.
  3. Provide instruction and support to clients to facilitate participation in the group.
  4. Be available for brief periods between sessions to contact group members regarding the upcoming sessions.
