Give back to your local community by providing food and material aid! Emergency Relief aims to assist people with significant and social disadvantages in obtaining short-term and critical support in the form of food vouchers, food parcels, clothing, and other material aid. Support your team members by receiving, and unpacking food deliveries, ensuring the food pantry is well-stocked and presentable for consumers to access, and making deliveries in the City of Port Phillip area. You will have a good level of physical fitness, and excellent driving ability. You will be flexible and have good communication skills and be willing to collaborate with a dynamic and supportive team.

Uniting Food Pantry in South Port is seeking a motivated individual to join the team. The role is predominantly non-consumer facing, and requires some sorting, lifting, packing, and driving. You will be responsible for: • Accepting food deliveries from external agencies • Unpacking and sorting goods received • Keeping shelves stocked as required • Packing food parcels for deliveries • Making food deliveries to clients in a COVID19-safe service manner • Supporting Emergency Relief operations and other duties as required.

The team takes responsibility for a safe and healthy work environment as required by Occupation and Health Safety provisions. You will be required to obtain a Police Check, Working With Children, and possess a full drivers license.

Uniting is a child safe organisation and is committed in everyday practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children, at all times. As a ‘child safe’ organisation, employment with Uniting is subject to a satisfactory national (and international where relevant) police check and relevant Working with Children Check in your State prior to commencement of any paid or unpaid work and/or participation in any service or undertaking.

Uniting is also committed to equal opportunity and ensuring the workplace is reflective of the community. We encourage people from different backgrounds to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and people with a disability.
