Multiple Sclerosis is funded to provide a volunteer visiting program – the Community Visitors Scheme (CVS). Volunteer visitors share stories, go for a stroll or have a cuppa, listen to music or play a board game. Our volunteers play a vital role in the life of a person living in an aged care home or their own home through ongoing friendship.
We have a lovely 85 year old Maltese lady residing in an aged care facility in Altona Meadows who would benefit from the friendship of a MALTESE speaking female visitor to have to speak 1:1 Maltese conversations with, look through cooking books, and watch videos on Malta and listen to Maltese music.
You need to be warm, caring, reliable and be willing to commit to weekly connections/visits or at least fortnightly connections/visits for a minimum of 12 months/ongoing.
Good Maltese communication skills are required for this recipient. Volunteers with other languages willing to be matched to same language are very welcome to enquire.
MS believes in a person centered approach and aspire to match you with someone local with shared interests and hobbies. We look forward to hearing from you
