Cansurvive is a small, not-for-profit charity that assists Cancer patients with support information on their issues. We are staffed entirely by an enthusiastic team of volunteers.
We are a level 2 association and require a simple verification letter from an accountant who has the designation of CPA, FCPA, CA FCA, MIPA or FIPA. We have a very small turnover and use an older version of MYOB (V19) for the bookkeeping, which is overseen by the treasurer who is a retired public accountant..
From the OFT website: The verifier must view your financial statements. If they are satisfied, they will provide a written statement:
I have examined the association’s financial records and state that the association's financial records show that the association has adequate bookkeeping processes in place to correctly record and explain transactions to enable a true and fair financial statement to be prepared.
