We are currently looking for a social support volunteer for Ernie Ernie is independent, social and loves being around people, he likes visiting friends, going to the shops, watching TV and listening to music. We are looking for someone who is outgoing, positive and at ease conversing with someone who has severe hearing loss.
This role involves visiting a Ernie in his home and on occasion taking him out for community activities or visiting a good friend. You will need to have a car that will fit a 4 wheel walker, you will also need to be comfortable around dogs as Ernie has a small dog, who rarely leaves his side. Ernie is available on any day of the week preferably in the afternoon.
As a valued member of the Social Support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meeting new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator who will assist you throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confronting injustice to make an impact in your community.
