**About the Role- We are on the lookout for a fun and energetic volunteer to lead our supported playgroup here in Swansea each Wednesday morning. This position would suit a retired educator or a person completing their Early Education / Occupational Therapy / Speech Therapy studies that would like to complement their training with onsite experience and help support the playgroup delivery. Taking on the position of play group leader gives the autonomy to create a rewarding learning experience. As a playgroup leader you can learn so much and increase your people and management skills. It is also an opportunity to meet new people and be part of the community.
Responsibilities include: • Providing safe, stimulating group play. • Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all children within the Playgroup. • Organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources including set up and pack down. • Draw on existing skills and experience to incorporate into sessions • Establish relationships with parents/carers. • Encourage all children to interact and engage in prepared activities. • Ensure there is a positive and happy atmosphere. • Plan appropriate play-based activities. • Have fun. • Working with Children Check (volunteer or employed) required.
