The purpose of the position is to undertake the role of Secretary of Sailability Gold Coast Inc. (SGC), an incorporated association pursuant to the Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Qld) and charity registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
While the duties of the position are set out extensively in the beforementioned Act, and also in the Rules of SGC, the practical day-to-day duties are similar to those required by the majority of small charities, sporting clubs, and service clubs, e.g. attendance at activities and meetings; Minute taking; maintenance of membership records; correspondence; and generally playing an essential role in the administration of SGC.
You will require a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, and basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook. Experience with computers and systems is generally desirable.
As SGC is staffed entirely by volunteers, a commitment to and involvement with our day-to-day activities is important. Being part of the SGC family is a satisfying and rewarding experience for us all.
