Australian War Widows QLD is looking for volunteer bus drivers to assist our ageing members attend monthly meetings and events.
Thanks to a recent grant award from the Eastern Star Foundation, we have recently acquired a small passenger bus. As the minibus holds a maximum of 12 passengers, the driver does not need to hold a bus licence to drive the vehicle, an unrestricted driving licence (C Class) would be required.
Various shifts are available, Monday to Friday, generally between 9am and 2pm. Our meetings and events are located throughout the Greater Brisbane region, travel time would normally not exceed two hours each way.
Australian War Widows Queensland was established in 1947 to protect the interests of war widows and to provide friendship, comfort and support to its members throughout Queensland. Today, our organisation takes care of over 2,000 elderly War Widows and has 26 branches across Queensland.
The Guild motto, adopted in 1949, is as true now as when we were founded 74 years ago. “We all belong to each other. We all need each other. It is in serving each other and in sacrificing for our common good that we are finding our true life.”
We look forward to hearing from you.
