Fundraising & Marketing Officer - Volunteer

This role is the part of the background backbone to assist the small team at Parkinson’s Queensland to deliver necessary support and information to the community who are living with Parkinson’s disease. Every little task contributes to the quality of life of a family where someone is diagnosed with Parkinson’s. This role can assist in various ways.

Work will be determined by what needs to be done at the time and what you are capable of. Depending on your skills and interests, tasks may include:

  • Assisting with the implementation of social media and marketing strategies.
  • Supporting PQI staff and other volunteers to undertake public relations exercises such as festivals, displays and events.
  • Assisting in increasing awareness of PQI as a brand and contribute to its mission, vision and values by assisting the Fundraising and Marketing Coordinator with media and stakeholder liaison, including writing copy and proof reading documents and materials.
  • Assisting with copywriting for grant applications and other proposals/campaigns.
  • Assisting the development, design and copywriting of documents, newsletters and other collateral.
  • Assist with the maintenance and ongoing development of content for our website
  • Developing resources to assist in information sharing for contacts and members
  • Researching information and educational content to assist contacts and members
  • Participate enthusiastically in PQI awareness, fundraising and promotional events
  • Other tasks decided between yourself and PQI.
