Volunteer to change lives. Yours included. This volunteer opportunity will help to make a meaningful difference by engaging in conversations with residents and contributing to the diversity of day to day activities and/or entertainment options for residents

As an activity volunteer you will be required to assist residents take part in various fun and creative activities/games (bingo, craft, puzzles, board games, music, movies, telling stories, etc). Volunteers may also accompany residents on group community outings. You may also be required to support the Lifestyle Team with setting up and packing away resources, escorting residents to and from their rooms and serving light refreshments. As a friendly visitor you will support residents who may be feeling lonely or isolated by engaging in conversation, encouraging them to take part in activities and make friendships with their peers.

Sunnybank Hills Residential Aged Care Facility is a modern, friendly, warm and active community for those who call it home. Residents enjoy a full social calendar and can sit back and relax or entertain their visitors in the fully landscaped gardens.

Tasks involved include: ▪Assist residents to and from their rooms to various fun activities ▪Support the Lifestyle Team to set up and pack away activities ▪Assist serve light refreshments ▪Encourage residents to take an active part in planned daily activities and make friends with their peers ▪Accompany residents on group outings ▪Regularly visit residents who are feeling isolated or lonely

Skills Required: Volunteers should be friendly and able to communicate with people who are frail aged and elderly and come from diverse backgrounds in a respectful and courteous manner. Volunteers should be patient and have a genuine interest to make a positive difference. They should be reliable and able to work within a team or autonomously as directed.
