The Comprehensive GenesisCare Greenfields Centre offers oncology services including radiation therapy and chemotherapy. We are seeking volunteers to provide patients with information on the many Cancer Council Supportive Care Services available, directing patients through the facilities, and to provide a listening ear when needed.

Volunteers play a vital role in providing information and materials about Cancer Council's supportive care programs and directing patients to our 131120 information line, operated by dedicated nurses who can provide further information and support for cancer related questions or concerns patients may have.

Requirements:

• An outgoing, friendly and warm personality with a patient focus • Enjoy meeting and talking with people from diverse backgrounds • Excellent oral communication skills, highly developed listening skills • Empathy and patience • A professional approach to the role • Willing to participate in training • Attend any required training and team meetings • Participate in a regular feedback process and annual reflection • Must have had first COVID-19 vaccination by 1st October 2021 and be fully vaccinated by 1st November 2021.

Please note it is mandatory that all Cancer Council WA employees and volunteers performing roles at Fiona Stanley Hospital/Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital/GenesisCare have their first Covid-19 vaccination by 1st October 2021 and be fully vaccinated by 1st November 2021.
