Hazel enjoys watching and listening to Andre Rieu, and can participate in some group activities at her care home such as bingo and dancing if she has some one on one support. She also enjoys walking within the facility, and cups of tea. She has loved painting in the past and you can see her beautiful work on the walls at the care home. Verbal communication is difficult for her, but if you are skilled in providing companionship to someone with Dementia, you may be the right person to share her warmth and smiles.

If you have the ability to communicate sensitively with elderly people, experience working with people with Dementia and an hour a week to spare, I would love to hear from you.

The Community Visitor Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.

Volunteers will be required to have a current Influenza and Covid 19 vaccination or be willing to get one.
