Volunteer Position of Laywoman

Charles Darwin University

The University is currently seeking applications from persons who are:

  • interested in ethical issues involving human research in the areas of social science, environmental management, law, business, health and education.
  • prepared to express their views,
  • not affiliated with the University, and
  • not currently involved in medical, scientific, legal or academic work.

The HREC meets six times each year (on the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday every 2 months), during business hours from 9am until approximately midday, depending on the number and quality of projects. In our experience, many employers allow their employees time off to attend meetings. Whilst members receive no remuneration, the responsibilities are not onerous and the experience can be extremely rewarding. The meetings are held at CDU Casuarina Campus, however they can also be attended via Zoom.

If you would like to volunteer, please send your resume to ethics with a brief explanation of why you are interested in joining the Committee and what you believe you can contribute.
