Mandala Community Counselling Service is a small charitable organisation which provided counselling services for free or low-cost, in order to address the psychological needs of disadvantaged persons and thus improve their quality of life. Professional counsellors and psychologists volunteer their time so that clients, who would not otherwise be able to access such services, receive affordable ongoing counselling. Mandala also provides training for new volunteers in its psychodynamic counselling modality. The Mandala Board are volunteers who actively contribute to the ongoing success of the organisation. The primary function of the Chairperson is to providing energy and oversight for the organisation, and other functions include chairing the bi-monthly Board meetings, undertaking or assisting with ad-hoc projects, and signing correspondence as required.
