About us

The Ethics Centre established Primary Ethics Limited as an independent not-for-profit organisation to develop an engaging age-appropriate curriculum that spans Kindergarten to Year 6; and to deliver this ethics program free of charge via a network of specially trained and accredited volunteers.

Location: Sydney Areas

Days: Monday to Friday mornings & afternoons

Hours: 1 hour each week during school term

About the role

Primary Ethics teaches children to develop valuable skills for life. Our teachers come from all walks of life: parents and grandparents wanting to be involved in their grand/children's learning, and passionate community members wanting to make a difference.

By joining our team you'll get the opportunity to:

  • Undertake free comprehensive training, online or in person
  • Facilitate thought-provoking discussions amongst young children (our program caters to years K-6)
  • Learn new skills in facilitation and classroom management with the added benefit of learning about philosophical ideas and principles

  • Connect with younger generations and hear how they think about issues
  • Promote the program to the school network and the wider community
  • Be a part of our Primary Ethics Volunteer community-meet new people, support one another and exchange ideas!

Requirements

  • English proficiency (equivalent to IELTS band 7)
  • Undergo a Working with Children’s Check
  • Undergo a National Police Check
  • Covid-19 vaccination
  • Volunteers are required to attend all Interview / Training / Orientation sessions before being permitted to participate in the program.
