Allan is located in a Care centre in Bayswater and would love to have a friendly volunteer visit him once a week. Allan grew up in Australia and has a French and Welsh background. He had a career as an underground miner, blacksmith, and fettler. He loves bird watching, nature walks, hot topic discussions, and reminiscing about his life.
If you have good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with elderly people then this could be the volunteer role for you.
The Community Visitor Scheme is a Federal Government initiative established to promote links between people living in an aged care facility and their local community. The aim of the scheme is to improve residents' quality of life for those who have limited family, cultural and social contact and may be at risk of social isolation.
