Background Good Return is the registered business name of World Education Australia Ltd, a development agency that works across the Asia Pacific region to deliver training and business support programs for the benefit of the financially and socially excluded. Scope of position The Internal Auditor monitors and assesses how risks are managed, and how well internal control processes are working. The position acts as a consultant, applying a systematic methodology in evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, and how Good Return can improve its overall control environment.
The role includes these broad functions:
*-Evaluating the overall compliance regimen in terms of its design and effectiveness
*Evaluating how well risk management is handled, including information security
*Reporting and advising on risk management issues to senior management and the Board
*Assessing how the company would perform in the case of business interruption
RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Check that the major risks facing Good Return have been identified, and that appropriate risk management control procedures are documented and tracked. 2. Spot check operational processes to test policy compliance and control effectiveness. 3. Provide periodic reports to senior management and the Board as to the adequacy of risk management policies, and effectiveness of control procedures.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
*Minimum of a BA Accounting degree; CA or CPA preferred
*Relevant experience in conducting financial due diligence and analysis
*Solid understanding of standard accounting and operations processes and practice
*Familiarity with the major online financial recordkeeping and management reporting systems
*Ability to work independently, and remotely as necessary
*Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to negotiate, influence and build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders
