The Police Call Outs Program supports young people in police interviews when a parent, guardian or other suitable adult is unavailable. Volunteers in this program are required to attend police interviews on an 'on-call' basis to ensure that young people's rights are respected and that they feel supported during this process.
For this role you will have the capability to interact positively with young people and provide non-judgmental support, whilst engaging professionally with the South Australian Police. It would be great if you have knowledge and experience working within the youth justice system, but it is not required.
As a Police Call Outs volunteer you will provide support to young people whilst gaining experience with the world's largest humanitarian organisation. You will also have access to ongoing training opportunities and the chance to learn about and contribute to the youth justice sector. Whatever your motivation, volunteering at Red Cross is valuable to us and rewarding for you.
A Working With Children Check (Child Related Employment Screening) is required for this role.
Please note: you will be required to upload a recent copy of your CV to submit this application.
Please note: you will be required to provide details of two professional references to submit this application.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
