Riding for the Disabled Association of Tasmania Inc. (RDAT) is a volunteer organisation that provides opportunities for people living with disabilities to participate in equestrian activities. Our volunteers provide a safe and well organised environment for both horses and participants and have been operating in Tasmania since 1975.

The Board oversees the governance of RDA Tasmania at a state level, manages RDA Centres in Tasmania and ensures our compliance with national policies and practices. We would welcome enquiries from people who have previous Board or Committee experience or anyone with community or business experience, who has the time and skills to devote to RDA Tasmania and who is prepared and committed to learn about the organisation and the communities it serves.

We are looking to recruit two additional Board members (we currently have five Board members). Board members undertake varied tasks in ensuring the strategic direction of the organisation, including community engagement, marketing and fund raising, finance, grant writing and project management. The Board is currently seeking applications from interested parties who have a good understanding and desire to develop and assist to lead our organisation in their strategic direction and are willing and able to actively promote RDA in its commitment to raise awareness and to promote our profile. Ideally, applicants are retired or working part-time only, due to the commitment we are seeking. However, applications are open to anyone with a desire to learn about and devote time to RDA.
