Maintenance/handyman for museum

Lithgow Small Arms Factory Museum

We have a myriad of small projects that need to be done. We are looking for volunteers who have some building and maintenance skills to assist with our upgrades and modernisation projects, and/or would be happy to poke about identifying and fixing building maintainenance issues such as replacing lights, minor plumbing jobs, painting, weeding paths, minor building repairs, etc.

The Museum consists of 3 buildings, two of 1960s vintage (the Museum building and the ex-factory canteen) and the other a 1923 production building. They are all in reasonable to good condition but need ongoing maintenance.

For this position we are looking for honest, reliable people who can work independently and commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week or fornight. You can work your own flexible hours.

Tools and protective equipment will be provided. You will be working in a relaxed and friendly environment .

A microwave oven, fridge, air frier, toaster and toasted sandwich maker are available for use in our volunteer's meal room. We supply tea/coffee and biscuits for volunteers.
