We are looking for kind, committed and positive people to join our team of 1:1 social support volunteers. This program is designed to support older people to reengage and reconnect with their community and to the things they love to do.

Kevin* described himself as a good listener, friendly and someone who likes to keep busy. He enjoys talking about sports and general topics, and has a pet dog. Kevin feels that since the pandemic he has lost some of his communication skills and self confidence; he is looking for a volunteer that can help him to regain those skills and build his confidence through conversation.

To be successful in this role you will need good communications skills and the ability to work independently. As a valued member of social support team you will have access to ongoing training and development opportunities, meet new people and develop new skills. You will have support from a dedicated volunteer coordinator throughout your volunteer journey. You will be volunteering to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice to make an impact in your community. If you are interested in more information about this role please phone 139375 and quote TR-S-05. *name changed.
