The position of a Physical Support Worker covers a range of activities from providing a helping hand to clients in their homes, to working alongside other PCSTas workers to strengthen the service’s capacity.
We understand that in becoming a Physical Support Worker not all tasks may be suited to all volunteers and we are willing to work with you to find tasks suited to your skills and personality. However, you should be prepared to: • participate in training activities; • provide a helping hand to pregnant women and new mothers (up to 6 weeks after the birth of a baby) in their home, interact with children, undertake light housework and provide companionship; • provide office support; receive and distribute baby clothes, connect with support services, monitor Facebook activity; • work alongside others to assist with the running of the service. This includes tasks such as assisting at fund raising events or community expos and working bees.
