1. Who is Women of Colour Australia (WoCA)

Women of Colour Australia (WoCA) is a not-for-profit organisation and a registered charity established in August 2020. We are run by women of colour for women of colour. We exist to champion Australia’s women of colour through programs of education, community support initiatives, and advocacy work.

Our Vision: A world where girls and women of colour are afforded equitable opportunities to reach their full potential.

Our Purpose: To advocate, support, and strengthen the lives and experiences of Women of Colour in all places and spaces in Australia.

2. Duties as the Mentorship Program Marketing and Communications Coordinator

The Coordinator's duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying key online channels for WoCA to promote the Mentorship Program
  • Manage and monitor the delivery of effective marketing communication initiatives to achieve project success
  • Coordinate with the main Marketing & Communications Team to monitor and update all digital platforms with regards to the Mentorship Program
  • Monitor media channel effectiveness and conduct ongoing review and maintenance of campaign activity
  • Work with the main Marketing and Communications Team and the Mentorship Team to manage project marketing collateral, presentation, and customer touchpoints.
  • Maintain good working relationships with the Mentorship Team and the main Marketing and Communications Team.
  • Co-ordinate project media releases and social media initiatives
  • Assist with preparation of information for key internal reporting as required
  • Manage project deadlines for marketing and communications
  • Coordinate with the Mentorship Team and the Organisation's main Marketing and Communications team to create and develop marketing materials and design guides for the program

3. Attributes

The Coordinator will:

  • Have a good understanding of marketing and communications for a program
  • Have an understanding of key social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
  • Have strong writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to use online tools to engage the community
  • Outgoing, enthusiastic and creative
  • Have the ability to work collaboratively
