Volunteer Gardeners are required support the care of the gardens and grounds of the Ottey Centre and maintain it to an excellent standard and help create an attractive, welcoming exterior for the benefits of our members, clients and visitors.
Position Overview Work with the Centre Manager and as part of a team with minimal supervision. Interest and knowledge of planting and gardening skills. Awareness of health and safety issues outdoors and with gardening equipment. Have good health, communication skills, sense of humour and maintain confidentiality. Training - Organisational induction, role training including Health & Safety and training as and when required.
Key Tasks General gardening tasks including mowing grass, planting, pruning, weeding, watering, mulching and composting. Maintain worm farm. Help to keep grounds clean and tidy. Care for garden machinery and equipment. A friendly face for visitors to garden. Assist with planned development of the garden.
