ACT Events & Programs Lead - Young Professionals Network

The ACT Events and Programs Manager is responsible for managing events and programs in ACT. In this role, the individual will be responsible for developing a range of events and programs in line with national YP priorities, with a particular emphasis on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

On the events side, this will include coordinating strategic events throughout the year including promotions, venue hire and sourcing speakers. On the programs side, this will involve developing and implementing programs to engage with young professionals, including in the areas of mentoring and professional development. The Events and Programs Manager will be supported by local volunteers to carry out execution of events.


  • Develop a local events calendar in line with the YP national events calendar;
  • Manage volunteers responsible for event coordination activities;
  • Coordinate and lead on all aspects of events;
  • Deliver national programs locally;
  • Design and implement local programs;
  • Build relationships and manage diverse stakeholders of varying experience, age and background;
  • Liaise with the YP National Events and Programs Executive to ensure collaboration across the country;
  • Collaborate with Events and Programs Managers in other States and Territories;
  • Attend (or delegate) all National Events and Programs Meetings.

Selection Criteria


  • Experience with event and project management;
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills;
  • A commitment to furthering positive social change in the community to advance goals of the UN;
