Workshop Handyperson, ReStore

Habitat for Humanity SA

Logo for Habitat for Humanity SA

Habitat for Humanity SA operates a social enterprise called ReStore – best described as ‘an Op shop for building materials and furniture.’

We accept donations of new and ‘gently used’ building materials and furniture from retailers, building companies, tradies, and the general public, and sell it at around half the retail price. Without ReStore, much of this product would have gone to landfill.

Funds raised support our home building and improvement programs for South Australian families in need.

As a Workshop Handyperson you will be:

  • Repairing broken items
  • Replacing missing furniture parts
  • Sanding and re-staining/re-painting worn/faded furniture
  • Creating and building items for sale from recycled materials
  • Carrying out simple maintenance tasks around the shop and warehouse.

By supporting ReStore, you are helping Habitat for Humanity fulfill its vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Basic handyman skills and knowledge of tools and workshop practice. Some background or experience would be highly preferred. If power tools are required to be used, volunteers will be trained in their use onsite by our Volunteer Manager.
