Minimum commitment: one 6 hour shift per week (8.30am – 2.30pm or 2.30pm – 8.30pm). Volunteers can undertake a fortnight, 8.30am -11.30am or 5.00pm – 9.00pm Rehabilitation shift after the full 12 weeks of competency training is completed. Volunteers will work under the guidance of the Hospital Manager and/or an experienced volunteer and are responsible for:

preparing food for a variety of animals cleaning cages, vivariums, aviaries or other housing facilities washing dishes, laundry, perches and equipment sweeping, mopping of Hospital facilities weighing animals assistance with handling large animals record keeping husbandry and enrichment maintenance transporting animals to and from zoos or other wildlife organisations
