Make a PAWsitive impact visiting with your four legged-friend!

Bring along your good natured pet and spend time chatting with people who may be frail and elderly at our residential aged care home in Miranda. You’ll see what a difference your furry friend can make.

As you're bringing your pet into an care environment with frail and elderly residents, we ask that your pet is

  • Calm, patient and gentle in nature
  • Up-to-date with vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas
  • Nails should be short and blunt. Freshly cut nails can be sharp if not filed down.
  • Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.
