Volunteer to change lives. Yours included. This volunteer opportunity will help to support the frail aged and elderly who visit Blue Care's Day Respite Centres by assisting them to take part in various activities, both in-centre and out and about in the community

There is always someone to care about or a task waiting to be completed. All Rounders are people who are adaptable, flexible and most importantly care about others. They come from diverse backgrounds and are willing to share their time, skills and life experience to make a positive difference to people who experience aged related frailty, dementia and disability.

Coopers Plains Respite Centre provides opportunities for people who are frail aged and elderly (some who experience dementia) to enjoy both group and individual activities both in Centre and out and about in the community.

Tasks involved include: ▪ assist the team with the preparation of resources for activities and community outings ▪ accompany the team and participants on community outings to ensure every one is enjoying a safe and pleasant journey ▪ assist the team to plan, prepare and serve light meals to participants ▪gently encourage and prompt participants to take an active part in lifestyle and creative activities and engage in positive interactions with their peers ▪assist with end of day kitchen duties (mopping, sweeping, washing up) and packing away resources ▪ volunteers are also welcome to transport participants in Blue Care Fleet Vehicles providing they have a good driving record and complete the required paperwork ( ie: restricted driver authority)

Skills Required: No previous experience or qualifications are needed. We are seeking people who are passionate about making a positive difference to people whose lives are affected by aged related frailty, dementia and disability
